Our fearless leader and CEO Kent Halliburton recently joined The Home Mining Podcast for a deep dive into the philosophy, practicality, and future of Bitcoin mining. The conversation went far beyond hash rates and electricity prices—it was a look at why mining truly matters, and how Sazmining is helping everyday Bitcoiners generate their own sats with renewable energy.

Here are some highlights from the episode and why they matter to the mission of Sazmining and the broader Bitcoin community.

🌊 Wild Sats: The Purest Bitcoin

There’s something special about mining your own Bitcoin—especially when it’s delivered straight to your wallet from your own rig. At Sazmining, the team calls these wild sats: Bitcoin earned directly from the network, untouched by exchanges or surveillance.

Kent emphasized that this isn’t just a technical difference. It’s psychological. When customers generate Bitcoin themselves, they’re far more likely to use it—to spend it, send it, and build with it—without the surveillance friction that comes with exchange-purchased sats.

Wild sats are real freedom. And they’re at the heart of Sazmining’s mission.

⚡ Mining as a Service, Built for Bitcoiners

Sazmining was born from a simple idea: Bitcoin mining should be easy, accessible, and aligned with Bitcoin values.

After Kent’s own frustrating attempt to mine from home in 2016, he asked a question that would eventually shape the company: Why isn’t there a plug-and-play way to mine Bitcoin like a service?

Today, Sazmining offers exactly that.

Customers can own their own ASIC rigs, hosted in high-performance, renewable-powered data centers in Paraguay, Norway, and Wisconsin. The Bitcoin goes directly to the customer’s wallet—no custody, no hidden fees, and no middlemen.

🛠️ Alignment Is Everything

During the podcast, Kent broke down one of the most important parts of Sazmining’s model: incentive alignment.

Unlike many operators that mark up rig prices or inflate electricity costs, Sazmining only earns when customers do—by taking a small share of the mining rewards. This creates total alignment between the company and the miner.

If rigs go offline or underperform, everyone feels it. That’s the way it should be. Bitcoin is built on aligned incentives, and Sazmining is too.

🌎 Navigating Risk with Decentralization

One topic that came up in the episode was jurisdictional risk—the reality that governments can, and do, change the rules. Kent shared that Sazmining intentionally operates in multiple countries to reduce this risk for both the company and its customers.

Distributed infrastructure = resilience.

In fact, every Sazmining customer owns their own machine, making the fleet decentralized by default. If regulators ever wanted to shut it all down, they’d be facing thousands of individual owners—not one centralized entity.

🔋 Mining Is a Modern Manufacturing Process

Kent likened mining to a manufacturing process, where electricity is the raw input and Bitcoin is the finished product. It’s a useful mental model—especially when thinking about Bitcoin’s connection to the real world.

Miners don’t seek out grid power. They hunt for electricity that nobody else is using—off-grid, stranded, or oversupplied energy—and convert it into something valuable. That’s not wasteful. That’s efficient. And most of the time, that unused energy is renewable.

This dynamic could also transform how and where humans live. Kent predicts mining will help spawn self-sustaining villages built around power generation sites, similar to how cities once formed around rivers and railways.

đź” The Road Ahead

Looking forward, Sazmining’s vision is simple but powerful: give everyday people the same tools and transparency the big public miners have.

That means:

  • Real-time data on power consumption and hashrate
  • A marketplace to resell or upgrade rigs
  • Financing options for new miners
  • End-to-end lifecycle support—from purchase to payout

More than 80% of Sazmining’s customers are repeat buyers. That’s not just a business stat—it’s a sign that something’s working.

🧠 The Bigger Picture

This isn’t just about mining machines and monthly payouts.

It’s about building a future where more people earn Bitcoin instead of just buying it. A world where exchanges aren’t the gatekeepers. A world where energy is local, money is sound, and incentives are finally aligned with freedom.

Mining may not be for everyone—but for those who get it, it’s a game-changer.
